About National Nutrition Month
National Nutrition Month, or Buwan ng Nutrisyon, is observed every July in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 491, s. 1974, also known as the Nutrition Act of the Philippines. Spearheaded by the National Nutrition Council (NNC), this annual observance aims to raise public awareness on the importance of proper nutrition, particularly for Filipino children.
Theme 2025:
โSa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!โ
This yearโs theme underscores the ongoing implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023โ2028, which seeks to address the countryโs nutrition challenges through united, multisectoral action.
Subtheme 2025:
โFood at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!โ
This highlights the importance of food and nutrition security as a foundation of national development and reminds us that access to adequate, safe, and nutritious food is a basic human rightโone that must be prioritized in both local and national development plans.
Together, letโs build a healthier, stronger, and well-nourished community!
